Bunny Hoppin' in First Grade!

A new month means new decorations in my classroom, so of course we had to make these adorable bunnies {adorabunnies?!} this week!  My kiddos did a great job… and I wasn't even in the room to supervise! {I had a meeting.}  Look at how cute they are!!

Here's a close-up of the middle one… meadow was a spelling word last week, so many of them used it in their writing! :)

This purple bunny is very concerned about dental health and hygiene… I guess our dental unit stuck with {at least} one of them!

There's always mischievous bunnies in the mix:

And this bunny's expression cracks me right up!

I would love to show you ALL of them, but some of my firsties put their names right smack in the middle of their projects.  I prefer names on the back of craftivities, but what can ya do?! :)

If you'd like to make some hippity-hoppin' bunnies with your students, check out my little pack, bunny hop {a craftivity}.  It's available in my TpT shop!!

Have a great night! :)

In Bloom {Craftivity & Printables}

Spring is HERE {whether the temperature agrees or not}, which means that spring themes are in full swing at school.  Right now my kiddos are tackling weather, but up next is our plant unit!  I realized I didn't have any plant related craftivities in my shop, and decided I needed to change that, ASAP!

This bright, flowery craft makes me smile… bring on the warmer temps and blooming blossoms!!  In Bloom {Craftivity & Printables} is the perfect supplement to your plant unit.  It includes a cheery flower craft, complete with five writing options, as well as seven different activities.  Lots of choices and differentiation, here!  Let's take a closer look!

The petals lift up to reveal a little activity:

There are five writing options to choose from:

"Plants Need…" prompt:
*words with pictures ready to color
*words with space to draw pictures {like above}
*no words or pictures

"Plant Facts!" prompt:
*lined petals to write
*blank petals to write/draw

You can customize the craft to suit your needs! :)

Aaand, of course, a Cupcake craftivity isn't complete without some fun printables!

There are seven activities in all, some with more than one option to choose from… I like options! ;)

If you want to grab this pack for your kiddos, or to learn more, head on over to my TpT shop!  I hope you LOVE it!!! :)

March Mishmash!

Hi everyone!  Yikes!  It's been a little while since my last post-- I promise I didn't abandon you!  I've just been *super* busy!  But, I'm here now with some pics of what I've been up to in March so far.  It's a bit of a mishmash!

This past week, we stumbled upon adjectives again.  I decided to pretty things up with a fun and colorful anchor chart {that you might have seen on my Instagram}!

Inspiration came from none other than Pinterest… but I can't find a source :(  We concluded our adjective discussion {for now} by making Reagan's Rainbow Name-bows-- always a class favorite!!  First we brainstormed as many adjectives as we could for each letter… some letters were a little bit hard!  Then we put our rainbows together… sorry, no pics of the kiddos' projects.  I think I took this exact picture last year, ha!

I am *sparkling* don't you think?? ;)

Earlier in the month, we decorated for St. Patrick's Day.  I do this little project every year; it's easy and quick, and my firsties love it!  I just noticed that the second one in from the left says, "I feel lucky because I have nineteen hamsters and a blue fish."  Nineteen?!?!

We also made some Loopy Leprechauns, courtesy of Cara Carroll.  This pic is before we added names to the hats… gotta protect my littles!

As the days crept closer and closer to the start of spring, my kiddos started to get a little antsy… a classic case of Spring Fever.  To help combat the "illness," I broke out my handy dandy Compliment Jar!  I saved this incentive idea for some point mid-year this time around, but you can certainly start it from day one!  It's available in my TpT shop if you're interested!

And that concludes this little March Mishmash!  Be sure to follow me on Insta, as it's a quick and easy way for me {and you!} to stay up-to-date when there isn't time to blog!  Have a great Sunday, friends!m :)

Sentence Builders {Printables!} March, April, May --Plus a Freebie!

Hi there, Cupcakes!  I hope you had a great Monday!

Sometime last week, I uploaded the latest edition of Sentence Builders to my TpT shop.  I haven't gotten around to blogging about it… until now!

Like the two previous sets, this set includes three months of sentence building practice: March, April, and May!  Each month includes three themes, and each theme includes five printables!  And like the last pack, this one includes statements, questions, and exclamations.

Here's a little peek at this edition:

March:  St. Patrick's Day * Spring * Weather

April:  Rainy Days * Bunnies * Earth Day

May:  Flowers * Kites * Memorial Day

Your kiddos will LOVE to read, build, write, check, and draw their way through these printables!  Here is a close-up of what a Sentence Builders printable looks like:

This butterfly builder isn't included in the pack-- but you can grab it free {HERE}!

If you want to check out the whole set-- sentence builders {printables!} march, april, may --head on over to my little TpT shop!  Here is a look at everything that's included:

I hope you love the third set!

For a chance to win a copy, leave a comment with your email below!  I'll pick a winner later this evening! :)
{{ Congrats to #1, Julie! }}

But that's not all!!  If you're NEW to Sentence Builders, and you think you might want to try 'em out, I bundled all three sets!  You can grab the BUNDLED builders for September through May in one stop, for less than the cost if you bought all three separately.  Plus, I'll be adding more for the remaining months!

Have a great night! :)

The Naughty Leprechaun Story {Giveaway}

Happy Tuesday, friends!  It's an especially happy Tuesday for me… I am off this week!  Yay for celebrating the Presidents!  But, I didn't stop by today to BRAG.  I am actually here with a special St. Pat's surprise!

A few days ago, a little box arrived in the mail… and this was what I found!

The Naughty Leprechaun Story Cover

The Naughty Leprechaun Story by Stephanie Hicks is a fun St. Patrick's Day tradition that you can start in your home, or in your classroom!  The set comes with a 24 page hardcover book, a 3.5" etched coin, and a keepsake box to keep it all together.

The tradition starts on March 14th, and will continue each night until St. Patrick's Day.  Before bedtime {or before the end of the school day}, children can decide which leprechaun will visit during the night using the special, double sided coin.  One side shows Liam, the nice leprechaun, and the other side shows Leyland, the naughty leprechaun.

The next morning, children will discover rewards and treasures from the nice leprechaun… or mischief and pranks {and maybe some sweet treats!} from the naughty leprechaun.  Either way, it's sure to be a ton of fun that your kiddos will LOVE!

The included storybook explains The Naughty Leprechaun Tradition {which I described a little bit above}.  It also tells The Legend of Liam and Leyland, twin leprechaun brothers who leave Ireland to share their lessons with children who have been given a coin.

The Naughty Leprechaun Story set is a fun way to urge children to do their best!  And to promote good behavior in your home or classroom… at least for a few days ;)  If you want to grab a copy for yourself, you can visit the official site.  There, you will also find some treasure and mischief ideas under the "resources" tab!

Now, how about a little giveaway!  You can WIN your own copy of The Naughty Leprechaun Story right here!  Just enter using the Rafflecopter below.

Good luck!

A Cupcake for the Teacher Loves TpT! {Giveaway}

The blog post title says it all-- A Cupcake for the Teacher LOVES TpT!  And so do the girls over at Freebielicious... which is why we are teaming up again for another FAB-U-LOUS giveaway!!

The Freebielicious girls are giving away $10 TpT gift certificates on each of our blogs {it's a hop!}, and TpT has graciously donated MORE gift cards that are being given away on the Freebielicious blog!  So many chances to win!  But before I give away the goods…

I joined TpT in December of 2011… just over two years ago.  I remember reading other teaching blogs, browsing shops, and thinking, "I think I can do this!"  And then asking my husband, "Do you think I can do this?!"  Of course, he said YES, so I went for it.  And I'm SO glad I did!

Teachers Pay Teachers has been a financial blessing.  It has given my husband and me the opportunity to save money for our family and home.  :)  We are SO thankful for the extra income!

Creating products for TpT has given me a creative outlet.  It has allowed me to share my ideas with teachers around the world.  It has also provided my classroom with a one-stop-shop for the BEST teaching resources around.

TpT and blogging has given me the chance to meet teachers from all over the country.  These girls have become good friends.  We can talk to each other about anything and everything… and trust me, we do!!

Back to the giveaway!  I am offering a $10 gift certificate to TpT!  All you have to do to enter is use the Rafflecopter below.  Easy peasy!
